A split, although mended, still shows its scar._ _This item is an Heirloom Item and gains benefits as its wielder achieves certain levels._ ### Level 4 While attuned to this shield you gain the following benefits: - This shield gives you +1 AC in addition to its normal AC. - You receive +1 to your Saving Throws. - Once per [[Long Rest]] you may cast [[Radiant Shield]] as an action. # History ## Early History ([[493 AoM|493]]-[[564 AoM]]) ### [[The Battle of Respite]] ([[493 AoM]]) Like all of [[Arzyliamorn's Crystal Blades]], the blade was created upon [[Arzyliamorn]]'s death and taken up by [[The Order of the Green Blades]]. The blade was eventually named "Shepard the Flock", though the exact circumstances around the naming are unclear. ### Wielded By [[Camrose Broadstone]] ([[546 AoM|546]]-[[564 AoM]]) The blade was eventually granted to [[Camrose Broadstone]] in [[546 AoM]] who Wielded it for 18 years until the blade was destroyed during a mission to [[The Southern Badlands]] ([[Chronicles of the Green Blades Vol. 1-R]]) ### First Reforging and Renaming ([[564 AoM]]) The broken crystal blade was recovered and, at Sir Broadstone's request, reforged into a shield which he named "Heart of Stone" after the poem. ## Later History ([[564 AoM|564]]-[[1488 AoM]]) Camrose continued to wield the shield for another 8 years until [[574 AoM]]. The shield was passed down through generations of [[Knight|Knights]] of [[The Order of the Green Blades]] until it was eventually granted to [[Galad Steelsworn|Sir Galad Steelsworn]] sometime before [[1488 AoM]]. ## [[Campaign 2]] ([[1488 AoM|1488]]-[[1489 AoM]]) ### [[The Fall of Valikin's Landing]] ([[1488 AoM]]) Galad wielded the shield in combat against [[Urgan, Doombringer|Urgan, Doombringer]], though the shield provided him little aid, as both Galad and the shield were cut in two by a single swing of Urgan's [[The Soul Axe|Soul Axe]]. Galad's final act was to offer the remains of the shield up to [[Prynazalya]], who pulled them away from his bisected corpse with [[Mage Hand]]. Prynazalya later incorporated the fragments of the shield into her nest. Unbeknownst to her, the fragments of the shield began to affect her dreams, causing her to occasionally dream fragments of the Shield's memories of Galad Steelsworn. ### Second Reforging ([[1489 AoM]]) Sometime after [[The Intertwining of Fates]] [[Ovranzo]] repaired the shield to an extent. ### [[The Battle of Haven's Breach]] ([[1489 AoM]]) Upon [[The Campaign 2 Adventuring Party]]'s sudden return to [[Haven's Breach]] during [[The Battle of Haven's Breach]] Ovranzo gave the shield to [[Dalas Greybark]], who begrudgingly took up the shield to defend the city. After taking up the shield, Dalas was visited by a memory of [[Galad Steelsworn]], with shadow-like memories of the other previous wielders present.
