At twilight, the [[Monastrae]] that were [[Retrieval of Stars|retrieved]] during the day are released by the Vela, submerged in the lake by the reefs so return the coral to their depths. Like many other similar celebrations that might use floating lanterns, the [[Monastrae]] float at the surface for a few minutes absorbing starlight before returning to their depths for another year.
