**[[1464 AoM|Age of Man 1464]].** _5 years after [[The Final Confrontation with The Thought Collector|the the defeat of The Thought Collector]], the withdrawal of [[the Alavastian Empire]]'s territorial claim, and reconnection with the [[The Feywilds|Fey]], the scum of [[Krashaprovos]] fight to survive in the a city that changes more than it stays the same._ ## [[25 Flamerule 1464]], [[The Reef]], [[Krashaprovos]] >*Shit. > >...falls from a lone seagull as it flies out towards the [[Serena Sea]]. > >And it falls down towards the ground in the richest city of the world: [[Krashaprovos]]. > >And as it falls, it has a spectacular view. We see: > >[[The Royals District]], [[Three Old Kegs]], and in the plaza just outside of it, the new [[Bronze]] statues of the legendary heroes, [[The Boy Scout Boys]] who saved this city twice over. > >[[The Griffon Ward|Griffon Ward]], We see past [[The Tri-Market]], past [[Skeingold Traders]], past the walls the newest edition to the city: [[Feytown]], where traders from [[The Feywilds]] came and set up shop outside of the city's walls and seeing the prosperity of this place, never left, creating a new community of exotic whimsy. > >We see what's left of [[Tymora Chapel]], abandoned and dilapidated after it's disgraceful involvement in the plot of [[Y'Driltha The Grave|Y'Driltha]] and [[The Claw of Tiamat]] > >Closer now, we see [[The New Swashbuckler's Guild Headquarters]] an enormous building in a majestic [[Gata Revival]] architectural style, free of Imperial cultural influence. Huge, swooping thatched roofs held up by curved post-and-beam supports, each part reminiscent in a way of both the sail and the the hull of a ship. Flowing aquatic shapes that make expert use of the traditional Gata building materials. Deeper within that overhanging roof sits a complex of rounded rammed earth structures with rope bridges connecting them where we see countless Gata Swashbucklers moving about. > >And what we see next, fast approaching, is a roof on an old imperial warehouse in [[The Reef]]. We see a big wooden sign saying "[[Chuck's Chum]]", which you all know to be the cheapest, gnarliest dive in the Reef, and on that roof we find a hole, melted away years ago by the acid breath of [[Y'Driltha The Grave|Y'Driltha]]. The shit falls through that hole, landing in a bucket inside, as the room falls deathly silent. > >... > >[[Brom Aleheart]] hobbles over and looks inside before turning to the silent room. He yells. > >"**IT'S SHIT!!!***" > >*Cheers erupt! The fated day has finally come, as [[Chuck]] once promised years ago, "there will be free ale at Chuck's Chum when a seagull shits through my gods damned roof". > >[[Not-Chuck]], the lanky [[Gata]] [[Bartender]] begins cursing violently in [[Leonin (Language)|Gata]] as he lines up a row of steins and pulls each of the tap handles at the bar, each topped with a [[Flickemabob]] of [[Haru Lightfang]]. ![[chucks_chum_map.png]] [[The Unlucky Crew]] find themselves amongst the merriment in [[Chuck's Chum]]. - [[Eneko]] the grumpy [[Half-Elf]] [[Wizard]]. A drop-out of [[The Silverhand Academy]] who recently suffered a [[Lingering Injury]] harming their hands. - [[Baelim Lightfoot]], a [[Halfling]] [[Ranger]] who some years ago set out from their home of [[Clearcreek]] before coming to [[Krashaprovos]] to seek adventure. Accompanied by his wolf [[Cricket (Wolf)|Cricket]] and his [[Familiar]] [[Salmon (Familiar)|Salmon]]. They recently completed a heist, a job given to them by their [[Fixer]], [[Tall Jeck Dalar]], who instructed them to go to the docks, pick up the box, and meet *someone* at [[Chuck's Chum]] who will introduce themselves with the code phrase "I lost my tree but I found a nice flute." The two get their free drinks, go to their usual table, and wait. and wait. and wait, but the recipient never comes. Eventually, they get curious. With Eneko's help, Baelim casts [[Detect Magic]] and they find the box is non-magical and likely not trapped. Baelim starts opening the box and Eneko leaves, not wanting to be associated with his crime. Baelim opens the box and inside they find: - 297 [[Gold]], 52 [[Silver]], 13 [[Copper]] - [[Golden Devil|A Statue of a Golden Devil]] that oozes [[Enchantment]] magic. - [[Medallion of Mettle|A Medallion]] that radiates [[Abjuration]] magic. - [[The Beetled Horn|A Beetle-like Horn]] that radiates [[Conjuration]] magic - [[Momentum Ring|A Ring]] that shines with [[Transmutation]] magic - [[Cloak of Protection|A Cloak]] that glistens with [[Abjuration|Abjuration Magic]] - [[Spell Scroll of Buzzing Bee|A Spell Scroll]] that glows with [[Conjuration|Conjuration Magic]] They argue about the items for a while and ultimately decide to not touch anything. They close box and Eneko casts [[Mending]] to seal it again. Nearby a regular, a poor homeless woman, [[Samantha]], has noticed their conversation about the immense treasures they hold. She asks for money so she can get a house. Eneko asks her if she knows about the Devil statue. Samantha asks to have it so she can sell it for money. Eneko refuses. Baelim begins looking around for the client, just as [[The Coin Boyz]] enter: - [[Tarth Undertown]], a [[Half-Elf]] man with a [[Magno-Arcanum Obliterator|Strange Old Piece of Technology]] - [[Yarrow Meadowfoam]] a [[Halfling]] woman, an airheaded [[Warlock]] - [[Bayleaf]] an [[Elf|Elven]] man, a [[Bard]] of ill repute - [[Hatshis]] a female [[Sun Elf]] of few words One of the patrons, [[Borky]], begins explaining how advances in [[Transmutation]] make [[Gold]] and inferior currency and extols the non-deflationary virtues of [[Papercoin]] when **BANG!** Tarth Undertown shoots him in the head with his [[Magno-Arcanum Obliterator]], killing him instantly. Without a moment's hesitation, Eneko casts [[Finger Guns]] and shoots Tarth back. **Combat begins!** During the combat Eneko uses the [[Pipes of the Sewers]] and casts [[Battle Familiar]] to swarm Tarth with rats. Yarrow flirts with Baelim incessantly. Baelim enters melee combat with Tarth as Yarrow tries to pull him off his mount ([[Cricket (Wolf)|Cricket]]), but fails because of [[Saddle of the Cavalier]]. Bayleaf gives Tarth [[Bardic Inspiration]] and tries to kill the rats. Baelim casts [[Entangle]] on the coin boyz but only Yarrow is effected. She finds it kinky. A member of [[The City Watch of Krashaprovos]] enters, [[Blaze]]. **BANG!** He is shot and killed by Tarth. [[Hatshis]] closes in with Eneko and starts carving him up. Eneko realizes that they will be killed and tries to flee. He casts [[Smokescreen]] and runs outside, where he finds more Coin Boyz: - [[Benny]] the [[Human]] man - [[Misty]] the [[Goliath]] woman - [[Nuts]] the [[Goblin]] And realizes he is fucked. ([[Deception]]) he tries to pass himself off as Yarrow in a cloud of smoke and succeeds in tricking Misty. He runs to two nearby are two horses ([[Jimathan]] and [[Jimbo]]) and mounts Jimathan, riding off into the alley. Inside, Baelim flees from the goons around the corner. Bayleaf helps Yarrow out of Baelim's Entangle. **BANG!** Tarth kills the [[Bartender]] [[Not-Chuck]]. Baelim recalls the time he went exploring in the sewers at the back of the building. Baelim and Eneko meet up at the side of the building and communicate through the window. Baelim says to find a way into the sewers. He sprints ahead down into the sewers. He sends his [[Familiar]] [[Salmon (Familiar)|Salmon]] to go scout the sewers, finding three more Coin Boyz - [[Father Joshouad]] - [[Sachio]] - [[New Guy]] as well as a [[Assault Pillar|Glyph]]. New Guy seems to be attempting to open a gate deeper into the sewers, opening an escape route for his comrades. He casts [[Hunter's Mark]] on Father Joshouad and [[Ready (Action)|Readies]] an attack for when enemies approach. Eneko rides [[Cloud of Daggers]], [[Hunter's Mark]], [[Assault Pillar]] [[Eneko's Rat Familiar]] Joshouad and Sachio die escape with New Guy [[Vasily Skeingold|Vasily's Revenant]] kills [[Eneko]]!
