# Summary *A group of [[Orc]] [[Chief|Chieftains]] make their last stand against [[Urgan, Doombringer|Urgan]] as he continues his campaign to forcibly unite the Orc Tribes under his banner.* ^Summary # Adventure Log ## [[29 Uktar 1457]], [[The Southern Badlands]] [[The Chieftains]], [[Gorror of Dark Scar]], [[Tarok of Oaith]], [[Ologolora]], [[Kallagar]] and [[Meat]] assemble at [[The Stone of Binding]], their [[Combined Orc-Goblin Forces|Combined Forces]] in tow. Their mission is simple: to stop [[Urgan, Doombringer|Urgan]], a warmongering [[Orc]], not of any of [[The 13 Great Orcish Bloodlines]] that has begun forcibly unifying the various orcish tribes under his banner. As the chieftains approach [[The Stone of Binding]] and it's 13 great stones that chronicle the bloodlines of their great tribes runes inscribed in the stones in [[Orcish]] begin to glow. The ghosts of their ancestors watch this momentous occasion from above. [[Gorror of Dark Scar|Chieftain Gorror]] of [[The Dark Scar Tribe]], barely a man and the new [[Chief|Chieftain]] of his tribe after his father, [[Gurzen of Dark Scar]] recently died in battle against Urgan, brings a report given to him by his scout [[Grakul]]: > Urgan has found [[The Sigil of Gruumsh]] in [[The Bleeding Mesa]] and is using it feed souls from [[The Material Plane of Caledon|The Material Plane]] through the cracks in the seal to the [[Demon|Demons]] in [[The Abyss]]. This is converting his warriors into [[Demon-touched]], ferocious and stronger but still bound to his will. With each soul he feeds through the cracks the seal weakens. The stone itself is groaning under the weight of what strains against it. If he gathers enough power, he'll command both sides of it. [[Ologolora|Chieftain Ologolora]], a middle aged woman and pacifistic [[Cleric]] from [[Ologolora's Tribe]] brings a report of the ritual Urgan is trying to enact: > With [[Kazak Ironspell]] at his side, Urgan has constructed a [[Soul Forge]] bound by four magical circles serving as [[Planar Anchor|Planar Anchors]]: > - The Circle of Iron: A circle protected by hardened iron chains. > - The Circle of Tongues, A circle inscribed in [[Orcish]] and [[Abyssal]] runes. > - The Circle of Voices, surrounded by ghostly figures. > - The Circle of Blood, which demands an offering. [[Tarok of Oaith|Chieftain Tarok]] of [[The Oaith Tribe]] brings a report of the available routes from The Stone of Binding to The Sigil of Gruumsh: > - The Path of Bone: The path through [[The Ancestral Wastes]], an ancient Orcish graveyard where the spirits of the dead still linger. > > - The Path of Blood: The [[Demon]] infested [[Crimson Gorge]]. > > - The Path of Shadow: [[The Whispering Tunnels]], a dark, trap filled maze. [[Kallagar|Chieftain Kallagar]], beefy, muscly, well armored and armed to the teeth expresses that their [[Combined Orc-Goblin Forces|Combined Forces]] should have no problem cutting through [[Urgan's Army]] and delivering the Chieftains to The Sigil of Gruumsh where they may confront Urgan themselves. After sharing their information, the chiefs set out with their forces to do battle with Urgan and his army upon the Bleeding Mesa. --- Chieftains Ologolora and Tarok choose the Path of Bone and begin to traverse the Ancestral Wastes. ([[History]]) Ologolora at first loses her way, having trouble remembering the path. Failure. ([[Survival]]) Tarok draws upon the stories of those who have passed through his Oasis to find the path. Success. ([[History]]) Ologolora gets over her initial fear and apprehension. The glowing footsteps of her ancestors guide the way. Success. The ancestors and spirits bless the orcs as they pass through the wastes, +1d4 radiant damage once per turn. --- Meanwhile, Kallagar and his tribe traverse the Path of Blood. ([[Athletics]]) The orcs fight waves of demons as they forge their way through the Crimson Gorge. Success. ([[Intimidation]]) Kallagar screams in the face of the demons, scaring them away. Success. ([[Athletics]]) Kallagar rips off the wings of demons and pushes through their lines, eventually exiting the canyon. Success. His lust for battle honed, Kallagar gains Heroic Inspiration, Advantage on Initiative, and Advantage on his first attack of the next combat. --- Gorror and Meat take the Path of Shadows. ([[Perception]]) Gorror attempts to guide his clan through the tunnels but only gets lost. Failure. ([[Stealth]]) Meat and his fellow Goblins, including [[Celery]] and [[Orange]] easily sneak through the caverns. Success. ([[Perception]]) Gorror continues to try to guide his clan through the tunnels and continues to get lost. Failure. ([[Stealth]]) Meat giggles as he continues to deftly navigate the tunnels. Success. Gorror, having no trust in his own skills, casts [[Contact Other Plane]], summoning [[Gorror's Patron|His Patron]] and asking him to show the way. The tall, black demon agrees, but insists Gorror will owe him and Gorror accepts. The Devil sends out blue flames to light the path. Success. ([[Stealth]]) Meat continues to stealthily sneak through the tunnels, eventually finding the exit. Gorror and Meat, now well practiced in combat, gain a surprise round in their next combat. --- The chieftains reconvene atop a cliff overlooking a [[Desolate Valley]] filled with a sea of soldiers from Urgan's army. The The Bleeding Mesa is on the far side of the valley, where Urgan prepares to breach the Sigil. The group makes their armies to push through Urgan's lines and eventually breaks through. In the end, the chieftains find themselves alone as they make the approach to the Sigil, faced with the last of Urgan's forces. ![[Approach_To_Sigil_of_Gruumsh.png]] Combat begins! - Meat shoots a Goblin in the front lines dead, killing them and hides. - Gorror [[Eldritch Blast|Eldritch Blasts]] two "Mesa Hurlers", [[Giant|Giantkin]] throwing boulders from the backline, knocking them off their towers. - Tarok moves forwards and casts [[Hunter's Mark]] on a "Soulbound [[Troll]]" before firing arrows at the troll. - Kallagar charges into melee combat and easily kills two Goblins. - Meat continues his advance, throwing [[Dagger|Daggers]] at two nearby Goblins, killing one. - Gorror casts [[Wall of Fire]], incinerating six [[Hobgoblin|Hobgoblins]] and dividing the battlefield in two. Gorror offers their souls to his Patron in exchange for his previous help. - The frontline Orcs swarm Kallagar, but all of their attacks fail to penetrate his armor. - A Soulbound Troll attempts to "soul leash" Kallagar but his armor protects him from the abyssal attack. The other troll flees from the wall of fire. - The mesa hurlers break down one of the walls of their towers, giving them a way to climb back up to their previous vantage points. - Olo runs forward and uses her [[Mace of Terror]] to [[Frightened|Frighten]] the Orcs and Goblins on the frontlines. They all begin to flee. - Tarok continues his barrage on the troll, hitting with his first arrow and missing with the second. - Kallagar kills one of the fleeing Orcs. - Meat uses [[Rogue#Level 3 Steady Aim|Steady Aim]] to launch a [[Rogue#Level 1 Sneak Attack|Sneak Attack]] on the closer Soulbound Troll with his gun, killing the troll. - Gorror uses his [[Ring of Eldritch Fulmination]] to [[Eldritch Blast]] and [[Thunderclap]] a group of fleeing Orcs. - The orcs continue to flee. The fear effect wears off on their goblin allies, however. - The mesa hurlers begin throwing boulders, narrowly missing Kallagar and Meat. - Olo casts [[Bless]] on Meat, Tarok, and Gorror. - Tarok casts [[Fog Cloud]], obstructing the view of the Orcs and Goblins. - Kallagar rushes blindly into the Fog Cloud and kills two goblins in the confusion. - Meat moves forward and hides. - Gorror, using [[Blindsight]], hits and kills two Orcs with [[Eldritch Blast]]. - One of the remaining Goblins attacks Tarok before running away! - The Orcs continue to flee, exiting the Fog Cloud into the Wall of Fire where they perish. - The hurlers throw another round of boulders, hitting Gorror. - Olo casts [[Cure Wounds]] on Gorror, restoring him nearly to full health. - Tarok kills one of the remaining goblins and continues advancing. - Kallagar kills a Goblin and moves up, Tarok and Gorror drop concentration on Fog Cloud and Wall of Fire, having no enemies left nearby. - Meat shoots one of the hurlers and hides. - Gorror fires another two Eldritch Blasts at the hurlers, knocking them off their towers again. - The remaining troll begins to flee. - Olo moves up and casts [[Resistance]] on Tarok, making him resistant to bludgeoning damage. - The trolls flee, and combat ends. The group takes a few minutes to rest before facing Urgan at the Sigil. Gorror casts [[Infernal Calling]], summoning a [[Barbara Devil]], the [[Barbed Devil]]. He uses his [[Rod of the Pact Keeper, +1]] and [[Warlock#Level 2 Magical Cunning|Magical Cunning]] to regain his spent spell slots and activates his [[Whispering Cloak]]. Ologolora casts [[Aid]] on the party and [[Death Ward]] on Kallagar. She also [[Bless|Blesses]] the party. Tarok casts [[Longstrider]] on Meat and Kallagar. The group enters the final chamber. Urgan is on the central alter as [[ Morghul the Lifebinder]] leads a dark ritual to unseal the sigil. Gorror suggests they go in the opposite direction. - Tarok casts [[Fog Cloud]] on Urgan's location and moves towards the Circle of Voices. - Kallagar runs towards the Circle of Voices using [[Orc#Adrenaline Rush|Adrenaline Rush]]. He attacks a nearby Orc and hits twice, hitting them with a shield bash as well. - Ologolora runs towards the Circle of Voices using Adrenaline Rush. - Gorror runs towards the Circle of Voices using Adrenaline Rush. He casts [[Eldritch Blast]] at two orcs near voices, using his [[Ring of Eldritch Fulmination]] to cause a [[Thunderclap]], killing both. - Meat runs towards the Circle of Voices and shoots an Orc with his gun. - Round 1 - Kallagar is hit with a barbed arrow from a previously unseen attacker. On the far side of the room a giant [[Troll]] archer, [[Gorak Gloomtusk]] reveals himself. Firing again and missing. - Barbara Devil kills an orc soldier sexily. - Urgan rushes out of the fog cloud towards Barbara Devil, closing in on her rapidly. - Ologolora attacks an Orc near the Circle of Voices and misses. - Urgan issues orders to his forces, telling them to kill. The Orcs within the Fog cloud rush out at random. - Two attack and hit Barbara Devil - Three attack Kallagar, one hits. - Kazak casts [[Greater Invisibility]] on himself. - Morghul moves towards Urgan and casts [[Aura of Vitality]] - Orcs by the other circles take up defensive positions behind cover. - The Orcs near the Circle of Voices attack Olo and Kallagar, hitting Kallagar once. - The Orcs near the Circle of Tongues attack Barbara Devil and hit her three times. - Tarok moves towards the Circle of Voices. He shoots his bow at a nearby orc twice, killing the Orc. He uses [[Hunter#Horde Breaker|Horde Breaker]] to attack and kill another. - Gorror casts [[Wall of Fire]] on Urgan and the swarm of orcs near him approaching Barbara Devil, but Kazak [[Counterspell|Counterspells]] it. He runs and uses Adrenaline Rush to approach the Circle of Voices. - Meat [[Hide (Action)|Hides]] behind a pillar, [[Ready (Action)|Readying]] an attack for when Gorak reveals himself again. - Urgan abandons attacking Barbara and begins moving towards the Circle of Voices. - Kallagar attacks orcs nearby and misses once and hits once. He uses [[Evasive Footwork]], [[Fighter#Level 1 Second Wind|Second Wind]] and moves towards Urgan. - Round 2 - Gorak casts [[Spike Growth]] near the Circle of Voices. - Barbara Devil attacks the Orcs near her twice. - Urgan approaches Kallagar and misses twice. - Ologolora uses her [[Mace of Terror]]. Urgan succeeds on his saving throw, but many of the other orcs flee. - Kazak Ironspell casts [[Fireball]], killing one of his own allies and wounding Tarok and Ologolora. Tarok's concentration on Fog Cloud ends. - Morghul moves towards Urgan and casts [[Aura of Vitality]], healing Urgan. - Orcs surround and attack Barbara Devil, knocking her [[Prone]]. Other Orcs attack Kallagar, who blocks their attacks. - Tarok approaches the circle of Voices and unbinds it ([[Religion]]). In unbinding the circle, Tarok learns the natures of the other circles: - Iron: [[Athletics]] check, Damage, [[Sleight of Hand]] - Tongues: Sacrifice 3rd level spell slot, Speak [[Orcish]] and [[Abyssal]] - Blood: Lose health, Sacrifice uncommon or rare item - Gorror rushes across the spike growth, taking significant damage, and casts [[Remove Curse]] on Urgan, asking him to "end this madness" and forcibly ending his attunement with [[The Soul Axe]]. Kazak [[Counterspell|Counterspells]], and Gorror counterspells him in return. Urgan asks Gorror why he has done this, and Gorror says to end the fighting. Urgan asserts that he *chose* this, the ultimate power, for himself. ([[History]]) Tarok recalls what he has heard of Urgan's past: Urgan was always an angry and bloodthirsty orc, disliked by every tribe he joined, as he inevitably declared himself leader and was ousted by the others. Eventually, Urgan found himself a [[Gladiator]] in [[Crag Duroshk]] where by chance the Soul Axe fell into his possession, eventually leading to his current rise to power. Urgan will not be any less violent and bloodthirsty without the curse. - Meat hides and shoots [[Gorak Gloomtusk]], critically hitting with a Sneak Attack and laughing maniacally. (61 damage!) - Kallagar uses [[Fighter#Level 1 Second Wind|Second Wind]] and attacks Urgan with a [[Goading Attack]] and [[Sap|Sapping]] him. He follows up with a [[Shield Master|Shield Bash]], pushing Urgan back. He closes the distance, using [[Evasive Footwork]]. He [[Fighter#Level 2 Action Surge|Action Surges]] and attacks again, missing once and hitting a second time. He uses [[Maneuvering Attack]] to allow Gorror to move away from Urgan. - Round 3 - Gorak shoots at Meat and misses. He shoots at Gorror and hits, pushing him back. Gorror's concentration on Infernal Calling breaks and Barbara Devil is banished back to [[The Nine Hells]]. - Urgan moves around Kallagar and attacks Gorror. He misses and attacks again. Gorror dies instantly. (Gaining a Wounded Chest [[Lingering Injury]]) Gorror finds himself in a [[Black Void]] at the foot of the throne of [[Gorror's Patron|Hit Patron]], who is displeased that he has seemingly thrown his life away. Gorror's Patron offers him power, a second chance, rolling out an infinitely long scroll for Gorror to sign in exchange for more power. Gorror, desperate, signs without even reading the contract. - Ologolora approaches Gorror's corpse and casts [[Revivify]], returning him to life. - Kazak casts [[Polymorph]] on Kallagar, turning him into a [[Sheep]]. - Morghul heals Urgan with [[Aura of Vitality]] and casts [[Starry Wisp]] on Meat, hitting. - An Orc approaches Tarok and hits him with an attack. Another approaches Gorror and misses his attack. More orcs rush towards the battle by the Circle of Voices. - Tarok moves towards the Circle of Iron. The orc near him gets an Attack of Opportunity and hits. He uses his longbow to attack another orc, critically hitting and killing him. He moves his Hunter's Mark to a 3rd orc and hits him with another attack. - Gorror begs pathetically for Urgan not to kill him. He fires an [[Eldritch Blast]] at Sheep-Kallagar, ending Polymorph and pushing him away. He fires a second Eldritch Blast at Urgan, hitting and pushing him away towards freed Kallagar. He stands up and flees, taking an Attack of Opportunity from a nearby orc. The attack critically hits. Gorror is knocked unconscious, receiving a Mangled Right Arm [[Lingering Injury]]. - Meat moves towards the Circle of Iron, a circle of abyssal chains with an imposing lock. Meat unlocks it effortlessly using [[Sleight of Hand]] and unbinds the circle. As the circles begin to unbind, a rift of planar instability opens from the center of the room. Spirits from [[The Abyss]] swirl through the air, damaging everyone nearby. - Kallagar tries to [[Grappled|Grapple]] Urgan and fails as Urgan pushes him away. Kallagar tries to grapple him again and succeeds. Kallagar uses [[Evasive Footwork]] and drags Urgan away from the battle against his will. - Round 4 - A devilish laugh fills the room as a huge [[Devil]], [[Gorror's Patron]] slams down into the ground from the sky above near the Circle of Voices , killing an orc nearby instantly. He moves towards two Orcs nearby, killing both of them. He exudes an aura of fire that damages nearby orcs. The Patron proclaims though he may not be ending [[The Blood War]], he will end this battle. - Gorak is damaged by the planar instability. He fires an Entangling Arrow at Tarok and hits, but Tarok saves against the slow effect. He fires a Thunder Arrow at Tarok and hits again, but Tarok saves from being knocked back. - Urgan uses a Legendary Action to attack Kallagar and misses. - Urgan attempts to break Kallagar's grapple and fails. - Ologolora gives Gorror a [[Potion of Healing (Greater)]] and casts [[Cure Wounds]] on Gorror before hiding behind a nearby pillar. - Kazak is wounded by the planar instability. He casts a [[Heightened Spell|Heightened]] [[Telekinesis]] on Kallagar, but Kallagar resists the spell. Kazak casts a [[Quickened Spell|Quickened]] [[Sorcerous Burst]] at Kallagar and hits. - Morghul uses [[Aura of Vitality]] on Urgan before breaking concentration on the spell. She casts [[Freedom of Movement]] on Urgan. - Many of the remaining orcs are damaged by the planar instability and die. Orcs near the Circles of Iron and Blood charge towards Meat. - Tarok steps out of the area of planar instability and casts [[Cure Wounds]] on himself before moving his [[Hunter's Mark]] to Gorak. - Gorror stands up from [[Prone]]. He rushes towards the center of the ritual chamber into the region of planar instability. He casts Eldritch Blast at Gorak, hitting him and pushing him backwards. He uses his [[Ring of Eldritch Fulmination]] to cause a [[Thunderclap]], hitting Gorak and a nearby Orc. He Eldritch Blasts Gorak again and hits. He uses [[Orc#Adrenaline Rush|Adrenaline Rush]] and continues running towards the center of the room. - Meat [[Disengage (Action)|Disengages]] from the orcs near him and moves towards the Circle of Iron. He shoots Gorak and hits before hiding behind cover. - Kallagar ends his grapple on Urgan and attacks him. He misses at first but hits the second time, following up with a [[Shield Master|Shield Bash]]. He [[Topple|Topples]] Urgan and knocks him [[Prone]]. Kallagar weighs staying and fighting Urgan or helping his allies with the circles. He chooses to help his allies and for the first time in his life turns his back to his enemy. He runs towards the Circle of Blood. Urgan takes an Attack of Opportunity and hits, killing Kallagar instantly. Kallagar finds himself in the Orcish Afterlife, [[The Realm of Banners]], greeted by the tribal banners of the many orcish tribes who have come before. He walks forwards into that realm of eternal glorious war. - Round 5 - Gorror's Patron uses his [[Whip]] to attack Kazak, hits, and pulls him forward, falling prone at the Devil's feet. The Devil flies for the Circle of Tongues and unbinds the circle ([[Arcana]])! - Gorak moves towards the center of the ritual site. He shoots an Entangling Arrow at Meat and hits, but Meat succeeds against the slowing effect. He casts [[Conjure Barrage]] against Gorror and Meat. Meat avoids the barrage, but Gorror is skewered with arrows. - Urgan uses his Legendary Action to move towards the Circle of Voices. - Unsure whether to pursue Olo or Tarok, Urgan slams his axe into the ground, sending a soul-powered shockwave towards Olo and Tarok both, both succeed on the save. Urgan closes the distance towards Olo. - Olo moves around Urgan without prompting an attack of opportunity. She uses her [[Mace of Terror]]. Both Urgan and Morghul succeed on their saves. - As a Legendary Action, Urgan attacks Olo but misses as Urgan ducks under the swing. - Kazak stands up and moves towards Gorak. He tries casting [[Hold Person]] on Gorror, but Gorror [[Counterspell|Counterspells]] it in a wave of panic. He quickens a Sorcerous Burst towards Gorror and misses. - Morghul moves towards Urgan and casts [[Mass Cure Wounds]], healing all of her allies. - Orcs rush towards Meat and attack, hitting twice. Orcs rush towards Gorror and hit once knocking him prone. - Tarok skirts around the circle of planar of instability towards the Circle of Tongues. He attacks Gorak and hits once. He uses Adrenaline Rush to continue towards the Circle of Tongues. - Gorror fires an Eldritch Blast towards one of the Orcs near Meat and hits. He fires another at Urgan and hits, pushing him out of melee range with Ologolora. He runs away from the two Orcs near him, narrowly avoiding their Attacks of Opportunity. He uses Adrenaline Rush to run towards the Circle of Blood. - Meat uses a [[Rogue#Level 2 Cunning Action|Cunning Action]] to [[Disengage (Action)|Disengage]] and runs towards the Circle of Blood. He shoots at Gorak and misses. - In [[The Realm of Banners]] Kallagar reunites with his long dead brother [[Koolagar]]. The two clasp arms and greet each other as warriors before joining the eternal battle. - Round 6 - Gorror's Patron teleports to Gorak and hits him with his sword, knocking him unconscious. He then flies over to Urgan and hits him with his whip. Morghul uses her Reaction to take half the damage. He says "I'm ending this now!" - Urgan uses a Legendary Action to attack Gorror's Patron and critically hits, knocking him unconscious. Gorror feels his power weaken as his Patron is brought low. Gorror is limited only to Cantrips. - Gorak is injured by the planar instability, failing two death saves instantly. - Urgan dashes towards the Circle of Blood, taking some damage from the planar instability. He uses Adrenaline Rush to catch up to Gorror, demanding he "stop this madness". - Ologolora moves towards the center of the room. She casts [[Mass Healing Word]] on herself and her allies and uses her [[Decanter of Endless Water]] to spray salt water at Kazak, knocking him prone. - Kazak stands up and casts [[Fireball]] on Gorror and Meat, using [[Careful Spell]] to ensure the spell avoids Urgan. Gorror falls unconscious taking a Wounded Back [[Lingering Injury]]. Meat [[Rogue#Level 7 Evasion|Evades]] the fireball. - Morghul casts [[Healing Word]] on Gorak. She casts [[Starry Wisp]] at Ologolora and misses. - As a Legendary Action Urgan sends a ranged soul attack from the axe at Meat, but Meat avoids it. - Orcs rush towards Meat and Ologolora as they are wounded by the planar instability. Their attacks miss. - Tarok moves towards the Circle of Blood and attacks Gorak with his bow. He misses once and hits the second time, knocking Gorak unconscious again. - Gorror fails his first Death Saving Throw. From within the [[Black Void]] he can see in the distance [[The Realm of Banners]] as Kallagar leaves him behind in the darkness. Behind him he can see his Patron, wounded. - Meat attacks the Orc near her with his [[Quickstep Dagger]] and hits. He attacks the other Orc near him and misses. He uses his Cunning Action to Disengage and runs towards the Circle of Blood. - Kallagar looks back and sees Gorror in the void. He thinks to himself that at least they died trying. He goes to eternal war knowing in his final moments he shamed himself by turning his back to his enemy. - Round 7 - Gorror's Patron fails his death saving throw. - Gorak fails his death saving throw. - Urgan attacks Gorror and hits. In his final moments, Gorror's mind turns to [[Gurzen of Dark Scar|His Father]], whom he wanted to make proud, and [[The Dark Scar Tribe|His People]], who he sacrificed everything, even his soul, for. The axe falls, and Gorror's head is split in two. [[Devil|Infernal]] chains shoot out of Gorror's corpse and restrain Urgan: Gorror's prior [[Pact Magic|Pact]] with his Patron provisioned for his corpse to be used as a trap in the event of his death. - Ologolora casts [[Cure Wounds]] on herself. - Kazak casts [[Magic Missile]] at Meat and moves towards the Circle of Blood. - Morghul is damaged by the planar instability. she casts [[Dispel Magic]] on the chains around Urgan, but it fails. - An Orc attacks Ologolora, knocking her prone. Another attacks Meat and misses. - Tarok moves his [[Hunter's Mark]] to Kazak and shoots two arrows at him. One critically hits, the other hits. - Meat uses Cunning Action to disengage and moves towards the Circle of Blood, sacrificing his [[Quickstep Dagger]] and unbinding the final circle in a gory explosion of blood. Combat ends. The planar instability in the chamber grows. Everyone in the room begins to get sucked into a [[Portal]] to [[The Abyss]] at the center of the room. The remaining Chieftains, Tarok, Meat, and Ologolora race out of the chamber as an [[The Indescribably Grotesque Demon|The Indescribably Grotesque Demon]] begins to emerge from the portal and claw it's way into the material plane. The Demon's face has no recognizable facial features at all. Urgan rushes to the rift, prying it open with [[The Soul Axe]] and feeding souls from the axe into the rift to empower it and keep it open as the chieftains continue to flee. The top of [[The Bleeding Mesa]] explodes in a massive burst of soul energy before imploding back in on itself, leaving not a trace of what once stood there. Amongst the rubble the chieftains find [[Kazak Ironspell's Crown]] and [[Gorak Gloomtusk's Bow]], but no sign of Urgan. And so [[The Conquest of Urgan, Doombringer]] *seems* to come to an end. ...for a time.
