*An Epilogue of [[The Boy Scout Boys Campaign]].*
---
Of everyone in [[The Boy Scout Boys]], [[Valdove]] may have loved adventuring the most of them all. Not wanting to see the adventure coming to an end, Valdove follows their questing companions around and helps in any way they can until their companions inevitably settle in the places they came from, and the places they've discovered along the way.
After many goodbyes, Valdove decides to follow up on the one adventure they left unfinished: traveling to the kingdom of [[Sonyv]] and seeing if [[Alrai]]'s ambitions were fulfilled for a fair and balanced society. Valdove doesn't venture into [[The Feywilds]] with a plan, but they've done this before, how hard can it be?
Unfortunately adventuring alone is tough for a charlatan [[Bard]], Valdove meets their match in an encounter with a small group of [[Feywild Gremlin|Feywild Gremlins]]. Unable to charm their way out of a fight, a gremlin buries its claws into Valdove's eyes and pulls them from their skull. Hearing them giggle and howl in the distance, Valdove's life is spared but they're rendered completely blind. Upon realizing that Valdove's thieving and adventuring days must come to an end, they despairingly return to [[Astrazalian, The City of Starlight|Astrazalian]].
However; it's in Valdove's nature to want to do good in only the worst way possible.
In a tavern tucked away in [[Astrazalian, The City of Starlight|Astrazalian]], Valdove meets a gnome named [[Follin]], and employs her to write a letter for Valdove to their companion [[Lazhna Whitesmith|Lazhna]], who Valdove thinks would be relieved to hear the end of their thieving days. Valdove also asks to include a sincere apology for ever suggesting their [[Changeling|true nature]] be used for trickery. Although Follin is not a thief or trickster by nature, she sympathizes with Valdove through Valdove's sincere and heartfelt thoughts towards their companion, and a bond of trust is developed very quickly between them.
Upon hearing the letter read back to them, Valdove realizes that blindness may have cured their greatest flaw: illiteracy.
Valdove and Follin open up what may be Astrazalian's first [[Valdove and Follin's Law Firm|law firm]] run by the two smallest thinking creatures in town. They decide to specialize as public defenders for the people, but also organize contracts, patents and prenups (anything under the sun, really) for those in need. Valdove's bizarre charismatic appeal to the masses and the masses' general misunderstanding of what legality even meant attributed greatly to their popularity. Their best kept secret to their immense success - other than Follin's ability to read and write - could be found in Valdove's slightly charred signature written with an inconspicuous [[Marodauch's Pen|infernal pen]].
Follin helps Valdove write many, many letters to Valdove's friends. Valdove loves them more knowing they've become the family they never had. As they pluck a tune on the enchanted lute in the late hours of the night they dream of the next adventure they may (or may not ever) have.
