# Summary
## [[The Discovery of the Last Precursor]]
[[Yeepo]], a muscular, if a tad dimwitted, [[Droba Grippli]], the third son of [[Yeepish]], awakens in his home in [[Yntiyope Village|The Village]] of [[The Yntiyope Tribe]], a community of Grippli just south of the [[Axol Chuli Peaks]] on [[Xoctl]]. While his siblings prepare for their day, Yeepo and his older brothers, [[Yuul]] and [[Yuh (Grippli)|Yuh]] prepare to go [[Hunter (Profession)|Hunting]].
The hunters meet with [[The Yntiyope Huntmaster|The Huntmaster]], who assigns hunts to the hunters of each family. In the end, only Yeepo's older brothers are assigned a hunt alongside the eldest brothers from [[The Yoipa Family]]. Yeepo wishes his brothers well as they depart for their hunt.
Yeepo's father instead invites him to a gathering of the tribe at [[The Yntityope Great Hall|The Great Hall]]. At the meeting, Yeepo finds his friend [[Yugu]] is present, rather than on a hunt. The [[The Conquest of Urgan, Doombringer|War]] to the north between Grippli tribes and an invading [[Urgan's Army|Orcish Army]] led by one known as [[Urgan, Doombringer|Urgan]] is discussed. The tribe will vote upon whether or not they will aid the Grippli of the north in the conflict.
[[Yugulo]], father of [[Yugu]] and [[Chief]] of the Tribe, speaks of his outrage that the invaders would disturb the balance of the jungle, and of his confidence that the jungle would give the Grippli the strength to win. Yeepish speaks after, urging caution, saying that [[Ayula, Daughter of Goreclaw|The Bear Mother]] in the north may defeat the invaders before it ever be of concern to the Yntiyope.
Yugulo retorts that Yeepish is weak, which is why he is not Chief, and calls on Yeepo to recite the lesson all hunters of the Yntiyope must commit to memory: that they must do everything they can to protect the Jungle, as it provides for them. [[Yela]], the [[Tribe Mother]] calls for the vote and Yeepish allows Yeepo to vote in his stead. Yeepo votes to go to war, and his father tells him that he is proud of him, even though he is pained by his decision. Ultimately, the decision is made that the tribe will go to war.
The tribe meeting is interrupted as a [[Scout]] enters the hall, announcing that a flare has been fired from one of the hunting parties: the hunters of [[The Yoipa Family]] and [[The Yeepish Family]] are in danger. Yeepo and Yugu, alongside a few other experienced hunters, rush through the jungle canopy to the rescue. Yugu insists that Yeepo's brothers are weak, and that he will show true strength by saving them.
The rescue party moves through the jungle canopy until eventually arriving at a [[Small Clearing to the East of Yntiyope Village]], where they discover several dead [[Velociraptor|Velociraptors]] and determine that a [[The Great Beasts|Great Beast]] chased the hunters away mid-hunt. They follow the tracks of the Great Beast south.
The rescue party eventually catches up, and finds the [[Yeepo Prologue Great Beast|The Great Beast]] has cornered the hunters in a small structure. Yeepo yells and [[Sling|Slings]] rocks at the beast to distract it away from the hunting party.
The beast begins turning [[Invisibility|Invisible]] and rampaging through the jungle, knocking trees down as it tries to attack the newcomers, knocking [[Yugu]] out in the process. Yeepo is able to distract the beast, leaping from tree to tree as the beast tries to smash Yeepo to the ground. Eventually, Yeepo creates enough of an opening for his brothers and the other hunters to escape.
The beast attacks Yeepo again, knocking down the tree Yeepo is on and sending him and the tree both crashing to the ground. The ground gives way as the tree makes impact and Yeepo and the Beast both fall into a cavern below.
Deep within the Cavern, Yeepo discovers some sort of ancient temple, filled with golden architecture and blue pulsating magic. The beast is nearby, unconscious. Yeepo descends deeper into the temple where he finds a large, empty, shattered crystalline pod. Nearby, a golden pedestal with three corpses of strange [[Precursor Species|Creatures]].
The corpses spring to un-life and attack Yeepo! He manages to fend them off, but not before they land a few blows, filling Yeepo with strange visions that connect his senses to the whole world. In the shattered ribcage of one of the defeated zombies he finds a [[Precursor Blue Tube|Strange Blue Tube]], which he takes with him before descending deeper still as he hears the great beast awaken and begin to wander through the temple.
Deeper within the temple, Yeepo is addressed by a [[The Last Precursor|A Voice]] claiming to be a [[The Precursors|Precursor]] that has to have seen the future, including Yeepo's death at the hands of the Great Beast if he stays here. He whisks Yeepo away on a strange horseless cart.
Along the ride, the creature explains the nature of the Precursors, a civilization that lived long ago, existing in some kind of hive-mind. The Precursors used great magic to create life, eventually creating a powerful [[The Being of Pure Chaos|Being of Pure Chaos]], meant to protect them, that instead betrayed them. Yeepo eventually arrives at [[Precursor Door Temple|Another Temple]] where the voice leads him to [[The Door]], missing [[The Three Gems of the Door|Three Gems]], it's keys.
The voice says that the power that [[Urgan, Doombringer|Urgan]] wields is that of the being of chaos, and that opening the door is the key to stopping him. Yeepo accepts the quest to open the door as the voice fades away, saying the precursors can no longer help him.

## [[29 Uktar 1488]], [[Yntiyope Village]]
In the ancient jungles of [[Xoctl]], south of [[Axol Chuli Peaks]], there is the [[Yntiyope Village|Village]] of the [[The Yntiyope Tribe|Yntiyope]].
At the south end of the village, in [[Yeepo's Family Hut|Their family hut]], [[Yeepish]], his wife [[Yiygrau]], and their seven children awaken early in the morning. Their breakfast gathered from the webs of the [[Barrel Oak Spider]]. [[Gyrodon]] meat and [[Sauropteryx]] eggs are cooking on the fire. Yiygrau adds [[Lilycabbage]] and [[Pineswill]].
The children roll out of their hammocks and prepare for their day, hunting. Among them, [[Yeepo]].
Yeepo is a bright yellow Grippli standing 6 feet tall with red and blue splotches adorning his skin. He has a small set of scars from a previous hunt. He is not the biggest in his village, but a rather muscular figure.
He jumps down from his bunk and aids his siblings in preparing for their day. Yeepish ensures his children are prepared for their hunt. They check over their supplies multiple times: the jungle is merciless.
Ready, they head out into the [[Yntiyope Village]]. This village uses, and reuses, every component of the jungle, from leather to the teeth of their prey, for everything in every-day life.
They meet [[The Yntiyope Huntmaster|The Huntmaster]]. He organizes the people of the village and assigns them their hunting tasks, though not everyone is given a task every day. Yeepo is nervous: his family is not considered to be great hunters in the village, and he is worried they will not hunt.
[[The Yakso Family]]'s eldest two and [[The Yalava Family]]'s eldest three, [[The Yahwala Family]]'s eldest three, and [[The Ywera Family]]'s eldest are called to hunt. The Huntmaster continues on, and on, until finally [[The Yeepish Family]]'s eldest two and [[The Yoipa Family]]'s eldest two are called two hunt as well.
...however Yeepo is the *third* eldest son. He will not be hunting. Yeepo's father consoles him, there will be other chances to hunt. Instead, Yeepo joins his father for the gathering of the tribe at the Great Hall. Yeepo tries to hide his disappointment and wishes his brothers [[Yuul]] and [[Yuh (Grippli)|Yuh]] the best of luck before they depart.
[[The Great Beasts]] have been causing problems for the hunters of the Yntiyope. It's either too risky to send out younger hunters, or there simply isn't enough prey.
Yeepo's best friend, [[Yugu]] was not present at the meeting of the hunters.
At [[The Yntityope Great Hall|The Great Hall]] at the north end of the village just above the [[Yawayako River]].
At the back of the hall is the [[Tribe Mother]], [[Yela]], who has been the Tribe Mother for [[13th Century AoM|200]]-[[12th Century AoM|300]] years. [[Yugulo]], the [[Chief]], is next to her. Yugulo defeated Yeepish in the past for the title of Chief. [[Yugu]] is also present. Yeepo waves, excited to see his friend. Yugu flexes and slaps his muscles, trying to intimidate Yeepo.
Yeepish instructs Yeepo to listen closely to the debate that will occur, as the future of the village will be decided.
Yela has swampy eyes, partially due to blindness, and partially due to magic, as she is attuned to the spirits of the jungle. She calls the meeting to order.
They discuss [[Urgan's Army|An Army]] that is rampaging through the jungle. The tribe must decide to either remain and find balance in the jungle, or aid the northern tribes in fighting off the army.
Yeepo, panicked and outraged, wonders how close the army is and how big the army is.
For hours, people debate and discuss the matter. [[Urgan, Doombringer|Urgan, Conqueror]] is rumored to be the [[Orc]] leading this army, and a river of blood follows him everywhere he goes. The northernmost tribes have already been captured, killed, or have evacuated their villages.
The proudest families are outraged that the army would disrupt the balance of the jungle. Yugulo calls for retribution, calling the invading army a parasite infecting the jungle, confident that the Grippli's knowledge of the jungle will lead to their victory.
Yeepo is emboldened by the thought of fighting the invaders. He looks to his father to judge his approval. Yeepish speaks of his disapproval, urging caution, to wait and see, as [[Ayula, Daughter of Goreclaw|The Bear Mother]] in the north may be able to defeat the army on her own, and to some day, eventually fight after gathering strength and better understanding their enemy.
Yeepo is disappointed, mad his opportunity to defend the village is being taken from him.
Yugulo calls Yeepish a coward. He asks Yeepo what they tell their hunters of the jungle before the hunt.
Yeepo stands and responds: "Respect the forest, it is our home. We must do everything we can to protect the forest so that it will protect our people."
Yugulo points out that Yeepo seems to know their ways better than Yeepish and calls the tribe to action again, and calls for a vote.
Yeepish gives Yeepo the opportunity to vote for their family. Yeepo hesitates. Yeepish insists Yeepo must learn what it means to take responsibility for his family. It is more important for Yeepo to learn than for Yeepish to vote.
Yeepo votes to go north. Yeepish is proud that Yeepo made a choice, but there is pain behind his smile.
The vote ends. The tribe has voted to move north to aid the other tribes in the war.
A [[Scout]] runs into the hall and calls out that a flare has been fired to the east, 4 hours out from the village. Everyone runs out of the hall to see the second flare, which indicates which hunting party is in danger. The flare is blue, the color of the [[The Yoipa Family]]: who are hunting with Yeepo's brothers [[Yuul]] and [[Yuh (Grippli)|Yuh]].
Yeepo runs towards the east side of the village towards the flares. Yugu pushes Yeepo out of the way, calling his family weak and insisting that he will save them and show them true strength.
Yugu, Yeepo, and two other hunters leap through the jungle canopy towards the direction of the flares.
After hours of traveling through the canopy, the group arrives at a [[Small Clearing to the East of Yntiyope Village|Small Clearing]]. There are two or three dead [[Velociraptor|Raptors]] near the creek, but the exact happenings are unclear.
The more experienced hunters determine that the hunters were attempting to trap a herbivore before something like a [[The Great Beasts|Great Beast]] tore through the clearing. The hunters traveled further south. The rescue party double checks their equipment and plans to find their fellows and flee, not fight a great beast.
Yeepo finds a raptor claw charm that was attached to one of [[Yuul]]'s weapons. Afraid for his brothers, he heads south slightly ahead of the other hunters.
They travel for another half an hour south before encountering a [[Yeepo Prologue Great Beast|Great Beast]] that exudes an aura of fear. The beast is looking for it's prey. Past the beast is a rectangular structure, small enough that the great beast cannot get inside. The other hunters seem to be inside.
Yeepo draws the creature away by creating noise hitting nearby trees with a [[Sling]]. Yeepo takes advantage of this opening to approach the structure.
Yeepo tries to keep an eye on the monster and coordinate his brothers' escape, but when he looks over to the monster it is gone. Behind him, the tree the rescue party is in cracks and is pushed to the ground as the [[Invisibility|Invisible]] beast turns visible again. The rescue party scatters and the hunting party takes the opportunity to flee the structure into the canopy.
Yeepo jumps to another tree and begins shouting firing sling shots at the beast in order to draw it away from both parties.
The beast rips Yeepo's tree in half, but Yeepo is able to jump to another tree in time.
The hunting party flees deep into the canopy. Yugu fires a sling shot and hits the beast while raving in his own unhinged way. The creature turns towards Yugu and vanishes again: a feint, shortly after the tree the hunting party is in cracks and they jump to a nearby tree. Yuul falls but Yuh jumps to the next tree.
Yuh hits the beast with a sling shot and jumps further away.
Yeepo moves away, making sure to stay spread out from his allies, and fires another sling shot at the beast, hitting it.
Yugu pulls out his spear and rushes the creature, but the spear simply snaps. Yugu fears for his life.
One of the other hunters pulls Yuul up into a tree.
The creature slashes Yugu with his claw and sends him flying back, unconscious. The beast jumps away and swipes at Yeepo's tree, but Yeepo is able to jump away in time.
Yuh jumps down and stabilizes Yugu ([[Medicine]]).
Yuul fires a sling shot at the beast and misses.
Yeepo throws a [[Smoke Grenade]] near his friends to try and obscure them from the creature and continues shouting, punching the tree, and making a spectacle to distract the creature.
The beast breaks Yeepo's tree again, Yeepo falls to the ground, and as the tree falls to the ground the ground gives way, and Yeepo and the beast topple and fall 250 feet down into the chasm below.
Yeepo turns in the air and fires his [[Hook Sling]] to hook onto the ceiling of the cavern, stopping himself from falling a mere 10 feet from the ground. The Hook Sling loses it's grip and Yeepo falls harmlessly to the ground and finds himself in an [[Precursor Temple|Ancient Temple]].
The beast is unconscious, if not dead. At the back of the temple is a blue, pulsating hallway. The floor is golden, with ancient runes and hieroglyphics that pulse blue with each step.
The temple is definitely not related to any Grippli culture.
Towards the back of the room are crystalline pods that have been shattered. Something used to be here, and is now gone.
Yeepo proceeds down a spiral staircase cautiously. It wraps around a huge, broken crystalline pod. At the bottom of the staircase there is a web-like substance and a blue amber-like substance, and a gold pedestal with three corpses near by.
While [[Investigation|investigating]] the strange substances, the three corpses clatter and pull themselves to their feet. The corpses have a similar appearance to the corruption of the [[The Great Beasts]] with large eyes and long ears that fold down. Their heads are large for their bodies. Yeepo finds them completely [[Precursor Species|Alien]].
Combat begins.
Yeepo kicks the closest creature in the head. it's neck snaps but it continues to fight.
The creature tries to grab Yeepo, but Yeepo backs away enough to avoid the attack.
The next zombie touches his hand to Yeepo's chest. Yeepo is overwhelmed, seeing everything and being connected to everything on the continent before being shunted back into his own body.
The third zombie attacks but misses.
Yeepo finishes off the first zombie with a powerful front kick that sends the monster skidding away. Yeepo sees the entrance to another room behind the defeated zombie. Yeepo throws a right hook at the zombie that attacked him previously. The zombies arm falls off.
The second zombie goes to attack Yeepo, but his other hand falls off.
The third zombie misses as well.
Yeepo punches again, but is deflected by some kind of psychic shield. Yeepo spins and hits the second zombie with an elbow, caving his chest in. Inside the chest cavity, Yeepo sees translucent blue ribs sparking energy.
The third zombie grabs Yeepo's arm, Yeepo is connected again to the whole world. He sees a coliseum. He is being rushed by huge hulking creatures wearing yellow, orange, brown. Yeepo is pulled away by a dark, violet-blue skinned person with sharp ears with nice hair and earrings. The scene shifts, Yeepo finds himself flying above a mountain range, with small huts below, he flies down to catch up to people on the ground. Next, he finds himself guiding strange quadrupeds pulling a cart. Next, sitting at a desk with an ink and quill. He is asked many questions he does not know the answers to. And on, and on, and on, before eventually being shunted back into his body.
Yeepo punches through the strange psionic shield protecting the final zombie, finishing it off.
Yeepo hears a *thud, thud, thud*, the footsteps of the great beast.
Yeepo grabs a [[Precursor Blue Tube]] out of the chest cavity of one of the zombies before moving through the door.
Yeepo enters another underground chamber where he finds hundreds of translucent pools against the wall, going on, and on, and on.
In front of him are on several platforms tethered together in a line. Yeepo investigates to figure out the purpose of the room. There is a tunnel where the tethered platforms may move through. There is also a shelf nearby that glows faintly. The pods above remind Yeepo of Grippli eggs, but they are all empty now.
In Yeepo's head he hears a whisper. [[The Last Precursor|The Voice]] comments that Yeepo was of a species born long after the speaker. The speaker wonders if Yeepo understands. Yeepo does. The voice speaks in riddles about questions and answers and destiny. The voice speaks of [[The Precursors]], "the ones before the ones" and continues to babble about questions and answers.
The voice seems to simplify it's speech, it addresses Yeepo directly. It explains that it is a [[The Precursors|Precursor]]. The voice explains that Yeepo will die if he remains here, as he has seen the future and [[Yeepo Prologue Great Beast|The Great Beast]] will kill him.
The Precursor explains the platform will take Yeepo to where he needs to go, to his fate. The Great Beast arrives, but blue energy traps it, giving Yeepo time to flee.
Yeepo jumps onto the platform. The precursor tells Yeepo to hold on before the blue energy moves into the platform and it speeds away.
For a while, Yeepo sees only darkness, until eventually other chambers become visible.
The Precursor explains that the precursors predate all modern creatures. They studied [[The Weave]], and used their power and imagination to create. At first, simple creations, before creating more complex and intelligent creatures.
Eventually, the Precursors brought themselves to an end. They attempted to create a guardian, and instead they created a weapon, a [[The Being of Pure Chaos|Being of Pure Chaos]] that turned on the Precursors. The Precursors turned themselves into non-physical beings to avoid being destroyed. Eventually, the Precursors died out. The Precursors used to have some kind of shared consciousness, similar to the Grippli Shamans.
Yeepo wonders how far he is moving away from home. The Precursor says that Yeepo is going far from home, but is instead going to his destiny. The Precursor says that Yeepo will solve problems that his kind created which plague the people of the world. The Precursor says that if Yeepo returns home now, his people are doomed.
The Precursor speaks to Yeepo of Urgan. the power Urgan wields originates from the Precursors. The Precursor says that Yeepo must understand the Precursors in order to defeat Urgan.
Yeepo, knowing this path leads to saving his people, accepts the path ahead of him.
## [[30 Uktar 1488]]
Yeepo continues riding on the platform.
## [[Feast of the Moon 1488]]
Yeepo continues riding on the platform.
## [[1 Nightal 1488]]
Yeepo eventually arrives at the end of the tunnel. The Precursor leads Yeepo to [[The Door]]. The Door is 30 feet tall, carved out of black stone. Depictions of creatures with claws, fangs, and sharp ears are carved into the door. The creatures are locked in an eternal struggle. In the center, there are three empty sockets connected by some mechanism.
The Precursor urges Yeepo to find [[The Three Gems of the Door|the keys]] to unlock the door. He wishes Yeepo well, and tells him the precursors can no longer help before fading away.
