Professor Thalen Alvanec is a [[Guild-Master]] of [[The Archaeology Guild]] who has been tasked with the management of the guild's efforts and work on the continent of [[Xoctl]] and is headquartered at [[Haven's Breach]]. ## Appearance A man who was once wiry and bookish, Thalen is now built with a solid frame from the years of jungle expeditions. He has tan and weather-creased skin and his hair, once meticulously combed, now falls in messy waves to his shoulders but is often tied back with a strip of leather. His beard is thick and streaked with gray. On his right forearm he boasts proudly a tattoo of the archaeology GUILD SIGIL. His left arm is covered in arcane runes, the story of which is known to few people. He often wears a weather-stained linen shirt with the sleeves rolled up to his elbows, although he often will wear a Guildmasters cloak in heavy rain or in important meetings with other members in [[Haven's Breach]]. His shirt is often tucked into rough canvas work trousers and a belt that contains various brushes, tools, parchment and ink, and a field journal. His eye has a spark when working in the field and he craves discovery.
