# Overview
Orzith Ilix, often called "The Thought Collector" or 'The God of Time' was an ancient, powerful, [[Githyanki]] man that bonded himself to [[The Cthaeh]], a powerful [[Tree of Knowledge]] that granted him knowledge of all possible futures.
Orzith aspired to Godhood, and utilized both mindless [[Thrall|Thralls]] and [[Or (Concept)|Ors]] ([[Cleric|Clerics]] forcibly implanted with a fraction of his psionic powers and aspects of his personality) achieve his goals, culminating in [[The Thrall War]].
He was ultimately killed by [[Lazhna Whitesmith]] of [[The Boy Scout Boys]].
# History
## Early History ([[The Age of Dragons]]-[[1453 AoM]])
Orzith Ilix was born in [[Luvon's Material Plane]]. He became a talented psychic, second only to [[The Githyanki Queen]].
He later traveled [[The Astral Sea]] aboard a [[Spelljammer]] with his brother [[Luvon Ilix]] where he was corrupted by the whispers of [[Dead God|Dead Gods]] and began to lust for power.
Orzith began traveling from [[Material Plane]] to Material Plane, pursuing various schemes to [[The Thought Collector's Past Attempts at becoming a God|become a God]], failing each time.
Eventually, Orzith and Luvon arrived in an adventured through [[The Feywilds]]. There they [[Githyanki visit Kono|visited Kono]] on at least one occasion.
Orzith's hunger for knowledge and power eventually led him to [[The Battle Between Luvon Ilix and The Thought Collector|fight]] with his brother [[Luvon Ilix]] and his allies, including the [[Aarakocra Army]]. In the battle, Orzith killed his brother, but was wounded gravely in the process. In order to survive, he bound himself to [[The Cthaeh]], within [[The Lair of The Cthaeh|it's lair]] where he remained forevermore.
With knowledge of all potential futures shared with him, he began creating [[Thrall|Thralls]] and [[Or (Concept)|Ors]] to do his bidding, shaping the future to his own ends.
He selected his Clerics through a ritual called the [[Selection By Whispering Stone]]. Those selected were granted a portion of his power, aspects of his psyche and even a portion of his name: [[Or (Concept)|Or]].
Each Or was bade to seek out "interesting" thoughts, sending them to throughout the cosmos on missions that only The Thought Collector could know the purpose of.
Orzith did not respond kindly to his thralls trying to escape his influence, though there were methods of doing so. In [[1358 AoM]] an [[Or (Ring of Mind Shielding)|Or]] managed to escape his influence by sequestering their soul in a [[Ring of Mind Shielding]]. Those who helped him were obliterated by Orzith.
However, many Ors were loyal to Orzith, such as [[Or (Ranger)]] and [[Or (Brawler)]].
## [[The Fall of Crag Duroshk]] ([[1453 AoM]])
Orzith sent an [[Or (Gladiator)|Or]] to [[The Pit of Doom]], where that Or witnessed the moment that [[Urgan, Doombringer|Urgan]] gained his mighty [[The Soul Axe|Soul Axe]].
## [[The Boy Scout Boys Campaign]] ([[1458 AoM|1458]]-[[1459 AoM]])
Orzith first communicated directly with [[Or (Adventurer)|Or]] during [[The Reclamation of Erba Terra]] instructing him to "Gather", referring to the research of [[Dracos]], exactly why is unclear.
The Thought Collector reached out to Or again during [[Grom Rescue Mission]] to bid him to come find him, to which Or promised to kill him.
During [[The Defense of Astrazalian]], The Thought Collector sends [[The Hot Collector|a Thrall]] to collect Or upon his entry into [[The Feywilds]], Or refuses, and the thrall is killed. Later, The Thought Collector witnesses Or reading a [[Goblin Commander]]'s final thoughts.
During [[Downtime in Astrazalian]], The Thought Collector first tries to directly take control of [[Or (Adventurer)|Or]] when his [[Ring of Mind Shielding]] slips off. Or quickly recovers, and The Thought Collector is thwarted.
After [[Delve of the Necropolis of Luvon Ilix]], The Thought Collector appeared to [[Or (Adventurer)|Or]] again, this time, powerless to take control of him as Or had received the [[Staff of Charming]] from [[Luvon Ilix]].
Growing increasingly frustrated with [[The Boy Scout Boys]], The Thought Collector later sent three thralls ([[Sorcerer Thrall]], [[War Cleric Thrall]], and [[Rogue Thrall]]) to eliminate the party during [[The Disruption of Kha'Nyv]], but all three thralls were defeated.
The Thought Collector was finally able to enthrall [[Or (Adventurer)|Or]] during [[The Search for the Pyre Shard of the Cinder Isles]], when [[Or (Adventurer)|Or]]'s [[Staff of Charming]] was stolen by [[Thieving Raptor|Thieving Raptors]]. While controlling Or, he came close to defeating The Boy Scout Boys before the [[Staff of Charming]] was returned to Or, at which point Or reversed the spell, taking control over The Thought Collector for a moment. Through The Thought Collector's eyes, Or observed [[The Lair of The Cthaeh]], as well as a vision of a [[Potential Future of the Four Legged Demon|Potential Future]] involving [[The Four Legged Demon]]. Or attempted to will The Thought Collector to free him, but The Thought Collector refused and rebuked Or before ending the spell.
The Thought Collector next interceded in Or's attempt to [[Commune]] with [[Lunara]] during [[The Burning of the Brokenstone Vale]], but allowed the communion on the grounds that he found it "Interesting."
Later, in [[Quest to Retrieve the Sands of Time]], frustrated with the party's continued insistence in defeating him and Or's continued overuse of his [[Divine Intervention]] with no loyalty in return, and after ignoring all of Orzith's commands to find him, He forcibly teleported Or to [[The Lair of The Cthaeh]].
With his three most powerful Ors present, including [[Or (Ranger)]] and [[Or (Brawler)]], Orzith enacted his master plan, enthralling a significant portion of the population across the planes and sending them to war in [[The Thrall War]], an act he considered necessary to prevent undesirable futures.
When Or demanded to know what future could be worth so much chaos and bloodshed to avoid, Orzith showed him a vision of a [[Potential Future of Urgan's Apocalypse]]. He gave Or one final chance to join him, which he rejected.
Soon after, [[The Boy Scout Boys]] arrive and [[The Final Confrontation with The Thought Collector]] begins.
With [[The Cinder Isles Pyre Shard|The Pyre Shard]], [[The Sands of Time]] and [[Luvon's Pan Flute]] in hand, The Boy Scout Boys begin their attack., freeing Or, destroying Orzith's wards, burning [[The Cthaeh]] with [[The Cinder Isles Pyre Shard|The Pyre Shard]], weakening Orzith with [[Luvon's Pan Flute]] and halting his time magic with [[The Sands of Time]].
Orzith was freed from the binds of The Cthaeh, with his own collection of artifacts, [[The Eye of Command]], [[The Hammer of the Gates]], [[Reaper]], and [[Armor of the Celestial]] at his command, the battle grew bloody, with Orzith nearly killing Or, [[Yuhguna Dyeh]], and [[Valdove]] in his desperate attempts to defeat them.
In the end, Orzith was killed by [[Lazhna Whitesmith]], using the [[Weave Absorbing Dagger of Warning|dagger]] that Or had gifted her in the past. He offered Lazhna instead one final chance to take his place as The God of Time. She refused, and Orzith was no more.
## Legacy
Following his death, his Thralls and Ors were freed from his control. [[The Thrall War]] ended the same day it began, and his former Clerics were free to discover themselves, though their old names did not return to them, and it took time for their psyches to recover from his extensive influence.
Though Orzith was killed, his claimed mission of averting the [[Potential Future of Urgan's Apocalypse]] was taken up by [[Or (Adventurer)|???]]. Though lacking any of the powers once granted by his old master, he began working in the shadows, much as Orzith had, trying to avert this future.
