In their training, he emphasizes the importance of focus and conquering fear to survive in the dangerous world outside of the village. Gorzyn expresses concern for Pryn's safety and advises her to take her training seriously, warning her of the impending threat of [[Urgan's Army]]. Later, when Urgan's Army ambushes Nylavorna, Gorzyn stays behind to safeguard Pryn's escape. Despite Pryn's desire to stay and fight alongside her mentor, Gorzyn insists on her leaving for her own safety. Gorzyn shows bravery in facing off against goblins to buy Pryn time to escape.
